Notes: Hebrew: "high father"; OT Genesis 14-17. In the Bible, Abram was the original name of Abraham but since the Middle Ages has been taken to be a diminutive of it.

The 1841 Census of Aberdeenshire had as many entries of Abram as of Abraham.
